Prosthodontics
or Dental prosthetics
Prosthodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with the replacement of missing teeth and the restoration of damaged teeth.
At the Feeldent dental practice, we are aware that missing teeth represent an aesthetic and functional problem that affects self-esteem and quality of life.
This is why we offer a wide range of dental prosthetic solutions to help you regain a beautiful smile, self-confidence, and full dental functionality.
Types of dental prostheses offered at Feeldent dental practice
Removable prosthetics
Total Dentures: In case of total edentulism (total lack of teeth), we create removable total dentures with high-quality materials. These prostheses replace all the teeth in the arch.
Partial Dentures: For partial edentulism, partial dentures are available that anchor to existing teeth. They are designed to be almost invisible, without visible metal clasps or rests.
Implant-supported Dentures: For greater stability and comfort of total dentures, we also offer implant-supported dentures. Usually, two to four implants are inserted into the arch onto which the prosthesis is fixed. These prostheses are removable, which facilitates cleaning.
Fixed dental prosthetics
Full ceramic crowns and bridges:
For the replacement of missing or damaged teeth, we offer full ceramic (zirconia) crowns and bridges. These are aesthetically excellent and restore full functionality to your smile.
Dental Crowns: Dental crowns cover the entire tooth and protect it. They are used for damaged, discoloured, or worn teeth.
Dental Bridges: Dental bridges replace one or more missing teeth, by fixing them to adjacent teeth.
You can read more about dental crowns and bridges here.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium screws inserted into the jawbone that serve as substitutes for the tooth root. Dental crowns, bridges, or dentures are then attached to these implants.

At Feeldent, we use the most modern technologies, which allows us to create prosthetic solutions of the highest quality.
Intraoral Scanner (Medit Scanner): Allows for precise digital scanning of teeth, avoiding errors that can occur with traditional impressions. The process is faster and more comfortable for the patient.
CAD-CAM Dental Laboratory: In collaboration with our dental technician, we create a unique product, functionally and aesthetically adapted to your needs.

Procedure for the creation of dental crowns and dental bridges
Diagnosis and Planning
The dentist examines the teeth, if necessary, performs an X-ray and discusses your wishes with you. Together, you develop a treatment plan.
Tooth Preparation
The dentist prepares the teeth that will receive the crowns or bridge, by removing a thin layer of dental enamel. Subsequently, an impression of your teeth is taken.
Laboratory Production
The dental technician in the laboratory creates the crowns or bridge based on the impression of your teeth.
Installation
The dentist installs the crowns or bridge, checks the bite and provides you with maintenance instructions.
Frequently Asked Questions about prosthodontics
What is the best type of dental prosthesis for me?
The best type of prosthesis depends on your individual needs and desires. The dentist will help you choose the most suitable solution.
How long does it take to make a dental prosthesis?
The creation of a dental prosthesis usually takes two to three weeks.
Will I be able to eat and speak normally with the prosthesis?
At first, it is necessary to get used to the prosthesis, but most people, over time, manage to eat and speak normally.
Does the prosthesis cause pain?
A new prosthesis is like new shoes: you have to get used to it first. Therefore, it is possible that in the first two to three weeks it might cause you a little discomfort or rub. In case of discomfort during meals or even just when wearing the prosthesis, we advise patients to call us and visit us to have the prosthesis adjusted (filed).
How often should the prosthesis be changed?
The lifespan of a prosthesis depends on the material, wear, and oral hygiene. Usually, it needs to be replaced every five years.
How do I correctly care for my dental prosthesis?
It is necessary to regularly care for dental prostheses, just like your own teeth. It is important to brush them regularly, use dental floss, and visit the dentist regularly.
